Joe & Ali were married at the church of St. Illtyd, which overlooks the west end of Oxwich Bay on the picturesque Gower Peninsula. It was such a wonderful winter wedding to capture, with so much fun, laughter and happiness throughout the day. Everyone made me feel so welcome, it was an absolute pleasure to be there as their Wales wedding photographer.
This lovely couple were looking for for a Wales wedding photographer and I was recommended by Welsh wedding website Cwtch The Bride. After we met up for an initial meeting, I was delighted when they booked me as their Wales wedding photographer to capture their wedding day.
Ali and her bridal party got ready at the Bulcroft, a cute cottage in the centre of the village owned by the Oxwich Bay Hotel. Ali wore a lovely La Sposa wedding dress with shoes from Marks and Spencer and looked absolutely stunning. Her eight beautiful bridesmaids wore red berry dresses from Debenhams and carried beautiful bouquets by Ruth Milton-Jones.
Joe and his best men got ready in their Christopher Scotney suits across the road from the bridal party cottage. It was then time to get to the church for the wedding ceremony. The coastal path to the church was a little wet and muddy, but Ali was well prepared. She presented her bridesmaids with designer wellington boots, which they all wore as they walked up slowly through the woods to the church.
Joe & Ali were married at the church of St. Illtyd, which overlooks the west end of Oxwich Bay on the picturesque Gower Peninsula. It’s a beautiful intimate church in the heart of the woods and was the perfect setting for this winter wedding. The wedding ceremony itself was very emotional but also full of laughter. After the ceremony had finished, we wandered down to Oxwich Bay beach for the wedding groups and bridal party portraits. We then captured some romantic couple portraits by the sea before heading back to the hotel for the wedding reception.
The wedding reception was held at the Oxwich Bay Hotel with a magnificent marquee in their grounds. The hotel is just a few meters from the 2.5 mile long sandy beach, with a spectacular views over the bay. After some hilarious stories from Ali’s Dad during the speeches, the wedding reception got into full swing and the party really started. Joe & Ali surprised their guests with some singing waiters who kept us all entertained. They also introduced everyone to the wedding conga which spiralled around the marquee. This gave me the opportunity to get some amazing action shots of the guests having a wonderful time. By the time The Villagers band arrived on stage, the party atmosphere was electric and this continued long into the night. Congratulations to Joe & Ali, I wish you all the happiness in the world and a fantastic future together.
If you’d like me to be your Wales wedding photographer, I’d love to hear from you.
